Padel players in Zanzibar, Tanzania, during a tournament — the birthplace of PadelRevive
Our Story

Padel Didn’t Start as a Business.

It Started as Something We Couldn’t Stop Doing.

This is the story behind PadelRevive — how two players met in Zanzibar, fell in love with padel, kept getting injured, and ended up building the system they wished existed when they started.

Meet Tim & Kim

How It Started

We met in Zanzibar during the pandemic, both working in hospitality. Kim from Vietnam. Tim from Germany. Different continents, same obsession.

Both of us came from badminton

Sport has always been part of our lives. We both played badminton growing up — competitive, serious, years of it. But nothing ever hit like padel.

From the moment we started playing, it was game over. One match turned into two. Two turned into five per week. Soon our entire routine — and even our travel plans — started revolving around padel.

Then the injuries came

Not just to one of us. To all of us. Elbow pain. Calf strains. Knee issues. Lower back tightness. Shoulder problems. Ankle injuries that stopped games instantly.

It didn’t matter if you were in your 20s or your 50s. We all went through it. Some injuries were small. Some took weeks. Some came back again and again. And the pattern was always similar: work all day, rush to the court, play at full intensity, repeat.

The Community That Started It All

A very international padel family at The Hub in Dongwe

We’re part of a very international padel community based around The Hub in Dongwe. Friends from all over the world — hotel owners, restaurant managers, kite instructors, villa hosts, café owners — all meeting on the same court. Different backgrounds, different countries, same obsession.

Our coach Stefano, originally from Italy and now one of the key people in the Tanzanian Padel Federation, plays a big role in this community. He has seen all levels — from complete beginners to highly competitive players — and one thing is always the same: everyone gets hooked. And sooner or later, almost everyone gets injured.

The Turning Point

When one too many injuries changed everything

For us, the real turning point came after the second calf injury. Within three months. At the worst possible time.

Low season in Zanzibar. Less work. More time to play. A full padel-focused training trip to Thailand already booked. And suddenly — not able to play.

That was the moment everything changed. Because the question was no longer: “How do we recover from this?” It was: “How do we stop this from happening again?”

The Problem

We Started Looking for Answers. We Found Chaos.

Random products, confusing advice

We started looking for solutions. And what we found was confusing. Random products. Contradictory advice. Generic fitness tips. Medical information that didn’t really apply to how we actually play.

At some point, our house looked like a small Amazon warehouse. Different sleeves, supports, creams, tools — trying everything. Talking to each other after matches: “What helped you?” “What worked?” “What didn’t?”

Slowly, we saw the pattern

The more we talked to other players, the clearer it got. Most injuries were not bad luck. They were patterns. Same mistakes. Same skipped warm-ups. Same weak links in the chain. And nobody was teaching this.

PadelRevive came out of that exact experience. Not from theory. Not from a plan to build a brand. From real players trying to solve a real problem: how do you keep playing padel without constantly getting injured?

At the end of the day, the biggest difference is not who plays the best. It’s who can keep playing.
What Makes It Different

Built by Players, Not by a Marketing Team

Everything here is based on what actually happens on court

What works in real life. What players struggle with. What makes a difference over time. No complicated systems. No over-theoretical explanations.

Just practical things that help you stay on court longer, recover better, avoid repeating the same mistakes, and understand your body as a padel player.

The Product Story

Why the Muscle Activation Spray Exists

It started because we needed it ourselves

At some point, one idea kept coming back. We were constantly using products like Tiger Balm before playing. It helped — but it was never perfect. Too strong. Too sticky. Too oily. Not practical for quick use before a match.

We wanted something different. Fresh. Easy to apply. Not overwhelming. Something that fits naturally into your pre-match routine. That’s where the idea for the Muscle Activation Spray started — not as a random product, but as something we actually needed ourselves.

Community & Future

Where PadelRevive Is Going

More than just content

PadelRevive is not just about guides and articles. It’s about building something around the way we all experience this sport. Our community in Zanzibar is growing. More local players are joining. The level is rising.

A gym and Pilates space is being developed. Padel-focused retreats are in planning. More structure around training and recovery is coming. We’re excited to be part of that journey — and grateful to everyone who has followed us this far.

Play More. Get Injured Less. Stay Consistent.

That’s the whole point of PadelRevive. If you’re just getting started, the best place to begin is our padel injury prevention guide — then explore the specific issues that matter to your game.
