How Many Padel Clubs Are There? We Counted 1,088
Not an industry estimate. 1,088 venues across 25 countries in Africa, Asia and the Gulf — each one individually verified from the club’s own published location, on 2026-08-23.
padel venues counted & pinned — across Africa, Asia & the Gulf
countries mapped individually — club by club, never sampled
courts, club-published — across the 183 venues that publish counts
In short: Nobody publishes a verified count of padel clubs outside Europe — headline market estimates are extrapolations. So we counted: 1,088 venues across 25 countries (334 in Africa, 754 in Asia & the Gulf), each verified individually from the club’s own published coordinates on 2026-08-23. 183 of those venues publish their court counts — 702 courts between them. The largest counted markets are Indonesia (108), India (103) and Lebanon (97). The full dataset is free to download on this page. We deliberately do not count Spain, Argentina or other mature markets — see the method section for why.
The Numbers
As of 2026-08-23, our directory holds 1,088 verified padel venues across 25 countries: 334 venues in 12 African countries and 754 venues in 13 countries across Asia and the Gulf. Every venue has an exact map position taken from the club’s own published location — a booking-platform profile the club manages, or a directory entry carrying the club’s own embedded map pin. None are geocoded guesses, and entries pinned on country or city centroids (placeholder geocodes) are rejected outright.
Court counts are stricter still: we record them only where the club itself publishes them, typically through its booking inventory. 183 venues meet that bar, with 702 courts between them. The other venues show no court count rather than an invented one — a directory template that lists identical courts for every club is a placeholder, not data, and we found and rejected exactly that pattern during collection.
The three largest counted markets surprised us: Indonesia (108 venues), India (103) and Lebanon (97) — three countries that rarely appear in padel industry coverage at all.
Country by Country
Africa — 334 venues, 12 countries
| Country | Venues counted |
|---|---|
| Morocco | 79 |
| Tunisia | 74 |
| South Africa | 71 |
| Kenya | 45 |
| Angola | 13 |
| Tanzania & Zanzibar | 9 |
| Nigeria | 9 |
| Zambia | 9 |
| Ghana | 8 |
| Senegal | 8 |
| Mozambique | 5 |
| Zimbabwe | 4 |
| Africa total | 334 |
Every country name links to its full club map. Namibia and Uganda are surveyed but unpublished — Namibia’s directory pins failed our placeholder-geocode check, and Uganda sits below our 4-venue threshold.
Asia & the Gulf — 754 venues, 13 countries
| Country | Venues counted |
|---|---|
| Indonesia | 108 |
| India | 103 |
| Lebanon | 97 |
| Dubai & the UAE | 81 |
| Qatar | 55 |
| Oman | 50 |
| Malaysia | 49 |
| Kuwait | 40 |
| Thailand | 40 |
| Singapore | 38 |
| Bahrain | 37 |
| Philippines | 33 |
| Jordan | 23 |
| Asia & Gulf total | 754 |
Saudi Arabia is absent deliberately: no source there currently meets our verification bar, so we publish no number rather than a guessed one.
The Method — Counted, Not Estimated
Each venue was verified individually on its own page: its name, its city, and its coordinates as published by the club itself — through the booking platform profile the club manages, or the club’s own embedded map on a structured directory. Coordinates must fall inside the country’s bounding box, and any venue pinned on a country or city centroid — the fingerprint of a placeholder geocode rather than a real location — is rejected and logged.
We also reject what directories get wrong: shopping malls listed as clubs (the club inside the mall is the venue), club cafés listed separately from the club, coach academies listed as if they were a second club at the same address, and one operator listed twice under two names. Chains are counted per physical location, and one venue that is genuinely two bookable facilities (an indoor hall and outdoor courts) counts as two.
Every count on this page is computed from the dataset at publish time — the figures cannot drift from the data they describe, because they are generated from it.
Most players don’t realise how thin the data behind padel’s headline numbers really is — we get it, a big round estimate reads better than a count. But what actually works, if you want numbers someone can check, is counting: club by club, pin by pin, with the dataset published next to the claim.
What We Deliberately Don’t Count
Spain, Argentina, Italy, Sweden and the other mature padel markets are not in this count — on purpose. Those markets have thousands of clubs and established booking ecosystems that already document them; a partial list from us would add noise, not knowledge, and any “every club” claim there would be false. Our count covers the markets where no verified public count existed before: Africa, Asia and the Gulf.
That scope makes this a floor, not a ceiling: 1,088 is the number of venues we can prove, in the regions we cover, on the date stamped above. The true worldwide number is far higher — but “far higher” is exactly the kind of claim we won’t put a number on without being able to show the receipts.
Download the Data
The full dataset is free to use with attribution and a link: Africa (334 venues, CSV) and Asia & the Gulf (754 venues, CSV). Each row carries the venue’s name, city, coordinates, court count where published, contact details where published, the source of its coordinates, and its verification date.
Journalists and researchers: cite it as “PadelRevive venue count, 2026-08-23” with a link to this page. If you spot a club we missed — or run one — email us and it will be verified and added free; that correction loop is part of the method.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many padel clubs are there in Africa?
334 verified padel venues across 12 African countries, as counted on 2026-08-23 — the largest being Morocco (79), Tunisia (74) and South Africa (71). Each venue is individually verified from the club’s own published location; the full list is downloadable as CSV on this page.
How many padel clubs are there in Asia and the Gulf?
754 verified venues across 13 countries, counted on 2026-08-23. Indonesia (108), India (103) and Lebanon (97) lead the count — ahead of the better-known Gulf markets like Dubai (81) and Qatar (55).
Why doesn’t this count include Spain or Argentina?
Because a partial count of a mature market is worse than no count. Spain and Argentina have thousands of clubs already documented by established booking ecosystems; our count covers the regions where no verified public count existed — Africa, Asia and the Gulf — and states its scope openly. The total is a floor, not a ceiling.
How is this different from industry estimates?
Industry figures are typically extrapolations from federation membership or court-manufacturer sales. This count is enumerative: every venue in it exists as a specific record — name, city, coordinates published by the club itself, verification date — and the whole dataset is downloadable, so any figure on this page can be checked against it.
