Our 6-Criteria Vetting Standard

Every clinic in the PadelRevive directory must satisfy all six of the following criteria before appearing on this page. No exceptions.

  1. Named clinician on record — a real, identifiable practitioner is associated with the listing, not just a brand.
  2. Verified qualifications — we cross-check registration with the relevant Portuguese professional bodies (e.g. Ordem dos Medicos, Associacao Portuguesa de Fisioterapeutas).
  3. Racket sport relevance — demonstrable experience treating padel, tennis, or squash injuries, confirmed via published case work, interviews, or patient referrals.
  4. Real address and contact details — a physical clinic location verifiable on street-level mapping, plus a working phone or email.
  5. Evidence-based approach — treatment protocols grounded in peer-reviewed sports medicine literature, not unsubstantiated proprietary methods.
  6. Active practice — the clinician is currently accepting patients. Retired practitioners and closed clinics are excluded.

🔍 Screening in Progress

Our team is actively researching and contacting sports medicine clinics, physiotherapy practices, and orthopaedic specialists across Portugal who have relevant padel injury experience.

We do not invent or estimate clinic names. Every entry in this directory will be individually verified against our six criteria before it is published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there specialist padel injury clinics in Portugal?

Dedicated padel injury clinics are still rare in Portugal, but sports medicine practitioners and physiotherapists with racket sport experience exist in most major cities. PadelRevive is actively screening practices in Lisbon, Porto, Algarve, and beyond. The key is finding a clinician who understands padel-specific biomechanics, particularly shoulder rotation, elbow loading, and rapid lateral movement patterns.

What type of specialist should a padel player in Portugal look for?

Most padel injuries are best addressed by a sports physiotherapist or sports medicine physician with racket sport exposure. For structural issues such as shoulder labral tears or knee ligament damage, an orthopaedic surgeon with a sports specialism is appropriate. In Portugal, look for practitioners registered with the Ordem dos Medicos or the Associacao Portuguesa de Fisioterapeutas who list desporto or medicina desportiva in their specialisms.

Why is the PadelRevive directory not yet showing clinic listings for Portugal?

We do not publish listings until a clinic has passed all six of our vetting criteria. Inventing or estimating names would be harmful to players who rely on this directory for genuine medical guidance. Screening is in progress across all seven Portuguese regions. You can accelerate coverage by submitting a clinic you trust or requesting your city using the forms on this page.

How is the padel injury specialist scene in Portugal compared to Spain?

Spain has a longer padel history and a denser network of racket sport specialists, particularly in Madrid and Barcelona. Portugal’s padel boom is more recent, roughly tracking the sport’s global acceleration from 2018 onward, so the specialist ecosystem is still maturing. The Algarve, with its concentration of international players and expatriates, and Lisbon, with its larger urban sports medicine infrastructure, are the most likely locations for early verified listings.
